POPCORN BALLS...

For family night tonight we made some yummy popcorn balls. There is a way easy recipe (even I was able to do it) on the back of a package of Halloween m&m's. We made purple balls which looked great with the purple, green, orange & black m&m's. The best part is they actually taste pretty good. :) The kids had a great time. I think Tiahna thought it was fun to create the 'Mother of all popcorn balls'. She was excited for Connor to see it.

SCORE! GO WOLVERINES...

Cole had his first soccer game on Saturday, he even scored the first goal! Unfortunately, they lost in the last seconds 3-2. This will make for a fun hour on Saturdays for the next couple months. The thing he enjoys most about playing sports: dressing for the occasion!

HAPPY 13TH B-DAY LAUREN!

WOW! Where does the time go? I can't believe Lauren is 13. We are fortunate-knock on wood-to have such a great daughter with very little drama. Lauren had a b-day party with all the girls in her Beehive class from church. They made bead bracelets, ate dinner, played 'Bigger & Better", ate cake & danced. For the game "Bigger & Better', they were put in teams & sent out in the neighborhood with a penny. They were told to go to 10-15 houses & see what they could trade their penny for. Some of the items they received were stereos, a card table, a doll from Christmas Story with the man & the leg lamp...I think you get the idea. It was a blast to have 12 girls around but even better when they went home. What was I thinking?? I'm so glad I didn't act like that when I was 13...hehe! I am so proud of the amazing young woman Lauren has become.

If you want to hear the ocean...

Never a dull moment with Cole around!!

About 2 weeks ago, I was cleaning his ear & he told me it hurt. I looked inside & it appeared his tube, from 4 years ago, was finally coming out. Erik & I have waited to see if it would come out on its own. With no luck, I finally took him to the Dr.'s today. Come to find out, this is not the ear the tube was still in! Cole finally told me - one of the shell necklaces that we brought back from Hawaii had broke. He decided to take one of the shells & put in his ear to see if he could hear the ocean!!! It was pushed so far back we had to take him down the hall to the ENT Specialist. He was NOT happy about having it pulled from his ear. After much screaming & crying, 3 of us holding him down, the Dr pulled the shell out. As we walked back to Dr. Katie's office, tears still rolling down his cheeks, he asked if he could leave the shell out tonight for the 'SHELL FAIRY". HILARIOUS!!! She had to look away so he couldn't see her laughing.

Lesson learned: If you want to hear the ocean, take a plane.

It could be a very long 13 years with him...
